Pros

1. Simple To Connect – Even as a newbie, I was able to connect the product without any difficulty. Once I had accessed the battery in my motorcycle, I clipped on the crocodile clips (positive first!), then attached them to the Oximiser device using the white connector. I then plugged the device into the mains, and it began working instantaneously. If you intend to keep the charger connected long term, the permanent fixture can be attached simply by securely screwing it to the battery. The whole process can be done in under 15 minutes: it couldn’t be easier!

2. Clear Display – The display comes on as soon as you plug the device into the mains. A reading of your battery’s power is shown in Volts, as well as the rate at which the device is charging: this is shown in Amps. If your battery is low, the screen will indicate that the device is in ‘recover’ mode. If your battery is over 85% full, the screen will indicate that the charger is in ‘maintain’ mode. A bar across the top shows how charged your battery is. This is all displayed on the LED screen, which is conveniently backlit with a blue light.

3. Intuitive 6 Stage Management System – From making sure you’ve connected the clips correctly at the start, to keeping your battery in tip-top shape for years on end, the 6 stage management system has everything covered. After taking measurement of your battery’s remaining power, it independently assesses which charging mode to implement, then gets to work!

Cons

1. Short Power Cable – At 900mm the cable doesn’t provide much length. Unless your motorcycle is close to the mains socket, the cable will struggle to reach it.

2. Constantly Plugged Into Mains – I personally would prefer if this device was charged separately, then able to be unplugged from the mains when it charges the battery, as I’ve seen some other products on the market are capable of. The fact that the device has to be plugged in at all times, limited how long I could leave it unattended, as my motorcycle is kept on a driveway, exposed to the elements. Bear that in mind over the winter, folks!

The Oxford Oximiser 900 does exactly what it’s designed to do. The device can be set up in no time, and it’ll keep your battery topped up, and in perfect condition. This product is designed to be connected for long periods of time, so your battery is always ready to go, whenever you are.

At £39.99, this is a must for your motorcycle’s maintenance. Don’t be caught dead without one!
