AmTech 40pc Socket Set
Pros
1. Cheap As Chips – This set costs a mere £7.50, and is one of the cheapest of its kind.
2. Plenty Of Pieces – With 35 sockets at your disposal, the piece you need should always be to hand.
3. Convenient Case – Although I think it’s cheeky including this as one of the 40 pieces, the case is handy for keeping the sockets organised, and in one place.
4. 3 Year Guarantee – It’s always good to have one to fall back on, especially considering the wear and tear over the course of three years.
Cons
1. Misleading Materials – Although this set is constructed of chrome plated hardened steel, the adaptor broke on me, on its first use! (As shown in the video below.)
2. Looks Budget – This set screams budget buy, and isn’t a particularly attractive addition to your collection of tools. The sticker on the case is off centre and looks like it was slapped on by a wet fish.
So, What's The Verdict?
Put simply, don’t buy this product! Can I be any clearer? If a tool doesn’t serve the purpose it’s designed to, what is the purpose in owning it? The sockets might be useable with other ratchets, but I suggest just avoiding this set altogether. I’ll stick a link in, but advise against using it…
