Pricing & Sizing - Spada Commute

Both the Spada Commute Trousers and Jacket are available in three colour options – Blue, Black and Grey. Each item costs £79.99, separately.

The trousers are available in sizes XS – XXL, and the jacket is available in sizes S – 5XL. They are designed to be worn over your other riding gear, and to fit the figure of all. To clean, use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe down the garments.

Pros

1. Full Of Armour – With a total of 8 pieces of impact absorbing armour, and a pocket for a back protector, this outfit gives you substantial protection in the unfortunate event of an accident. The short zip attachment is another useful safeguard, as it will prevent your jacket from sliding up and exposing your lower back.

2. One For All – Both the trousers and jacket are subtly stylish, and neutral. They come in a huge range of sizes to be worn by males or females, so these really are suitable for all riders.

3. Weather Ready – As well as being designed for all types of people, these items are designed for all types of weather. With superior waterproof lining that even covers the inside of your pockets, you can rest assured you and your valuables will stay dry. The Ventech air vents allow you to stay cool in hotter conditions, meaning these products can be worn all year round.

4. Fairly Priced – It isn’t often you find two quality items that offer this level of protection and versatility for less than £160, all in. These could be wise investments for your every day riding gear.

Cons

1. Dark Colours – Although the grey is slightly brighter than the blue and black options, this outfit is on the dark side. It could use more reflective strips, especially on the jacket, considering it’s intended primarily for commuting, which is when you’re most likely to be amongst other road users.

2. For Riding Only – Unlike some other gear which can be worn casually, the Spada Commute Trousers and Jacket are really purpose built for riding only. They’re great for longer rides or getting you to work (where presumably you’ll get changed), but not so great for hopping on and off on leisurely days out.

3. Smallish Pockets – Not the biggest issue (pardon the pun), but pockets for the sake of pockets is something I find odd. One pocket on the arm of the jacket is smaller than the one on the Helite Turtle 2 Airvest I reviewed, and I questioned what you’d be able to store in that one. Other riders may find use for them, but for me, all the outer pockets on the jacket need to be enlarged, or just plain eliminated.

So, What's The Verdict?

Spada have delivered a great outfit with these two pieces of riding gear combined. As a starting point for any rider, the Spada Commute Trousers and Jacket cover all the essentials. Plentiful protection, from abrasion and impact alike, and appropriateness for various weather conditions, mean these products can be relied upon on a daily basis.

Alone, each item could compliment your existing riding gear, as they come in unimposing colours. However, this is also a draw back in a sense, as a brighter colour option, such as green or yellow, may attract other road users’ attention more effectively. Overall, the Spada Commute Trousers and Jacket could be considered staple pieces of motorcycle clothing for any rider, especially at just £79.99 each.
